Product Description

For dogs ; puppies 8 weeks or older and up to 22 pounds. Kills fleas, flea eggs, ticks ; chewing lice. Fast acting. Kills ticks including those that may transmit Lyme disease. Waterproof. Package contains (3) 0.023 fl oz (.067 ml) applicators. Directions for Use: To kill fleas, all stages of brown dog ticks, American dog ticks, lone star ticks, and deer ticks (which may carry Lyme disease) and chewing lice, apply to dogs or puppies (8 weeks or older) as follows: Remove applicator from child resistant package. Hold applicator upright and snap applicator tip away from face and body. Place applicator tip through animal's hair to the skin level between the shoulder blades. Squeeze applicator, applying entire contents in a single spot to the animal's skin. Avoid superficial application to the animal's hair. Only one applicator per treatment is needed. Frontline Plus aids in the control of sarcoptic mange infestations. Multiple monthly treatments are recommended for the elimination of mites. Frontline Plus for dogs can also be used for the treatment and control of flea, tick and chewing lice infestations on breeding, pregnant and lactating bitches. Frequency of Application: When used monthly, Frontline Plus for dogs completely breaks the flea life cycle and controls tick and chewing lice infestations. Research demonstrates that Frontline Plus kills adult fleas, flea eggs, and flea larvae for up to six weeks. Frontline Plus also prevents development of all flea stages for up to six weeks. Frontline Plus kills ticks for at least one month. A once monthly application is recommended where tick control is needed. Although Frontline Plus can control fleas for up to six weeks, if there is a high risk of re-infestation or if the pet has fleas which may cause flea allergy dermatitis, a once monthly application may be needed.

Customer Reviews

I bought Frontline Plus here and NOTHING happened to the fleas. Checking on the Internet I read about COUNTERFEIT Frontline and when I bought Frontline from Petco I could see the difference. Fake ones are in metric, ml, not oz and the packing differs from the original, etc. There's a PDF online from EPA explaining the differences. Just be aware.

I have used frontline for years on many different types, and sizes of dogs. (doberman, german shephard, chihuahua, australian shepherd, lab, pit bull, bassett hound, rat terrier) Other topical brands had mixed reviews and reactions so I have always stuck to frontline. My small sensitive chihuahuas especially seem to do well on frontline with no reaction. I make sure to give dogs a bath prior to their monthly application. I give them another bath half way through the month, and I don't have any problem with this "washing" off.
I have used on flea ; tick infested dogs, and used as a preventative on dogs who did not have any pests on them. This works great even on the most sensitive dogs. Only one case after 10+ years of use have I had to re-apply. I gave this to a 7lb chihuahua with fleas, mom washed the dog hours later, not knowing I had given her frontline earlier! I did have to re-apply. I went to the vet to make sure I could give a 2nd dose on a small chihuahua in such short time, and they okayed it. She had no problems, and is the most sensitive of all the chihuahuas I have worked with! Love frontline. If your pet ever has a reaction make sure to keep some liquid benadryl on hand for them! (its dog safe!)
I am switching to Trifexis (a flea/tick treatment ; heart worm preventative in one) because of cost of buying flea treatment ; heart worm preventative for 4 dogs with different weights. However, I will continue to keep frontline on hand for my strays, and will always have a love for this product! Never used the cat version, only the dog one
